One of a kind Jewelry...

I have always been fascinated by nature and natural materials. Wood and stone were some of the earliest artistic mediums ever used and they continue to fascinate and inspire me with their complexity and beauty. The multitude of color varieties and grain patterns has compelled me to explore wood and stones endless uses as an artistic medium.

In my work I try to highlight the intrinsic beauty of the material by integrating natural edges, knots, burls cavities, crystals, and voids. Many of my pieces are created around a void or other naturally-occurring defect in the material.

and wood working

Growing up in Three Rivers, California near the giant sequoias has helped me to appreciate trees and the use of wood as a renewable but fragile resource. Much of the material I work with is “cutoffs” from lumber operations and local tree trimmers, which would otherwise go to waste.

The majority of my work weaves in and out of the common theme of container. I love to create functional bowls and boxes as well as less than functional artistic explorations on the same theme. I strive for all my creations to have an heirloom quality, an essence that captures the senses, calls to be touched, and will be enjoyed for many years.
